Divided between the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, its name derives not from its geographical position but from its characteristic hills. The High Monferrato confines with Liguria, which has influenced our eno-gastronomy. Among our typical dishes are focacce, spinach dishes, pesto and nut sauces along with the “ravioli” (filled pasta) and the classical Piedmontese mixed-fry, peculiar dishes of the tasty cuisine of Monferrato. It is a land to be lived and discovered.
